Black & Whites
I took this photo in my first year as a student in Edinburgh. Unsure of my bearings, I was informed that this area is known as the "pubic triangle," as it features three lap dancing clubs within— you guessed it— a triangle.
I ended up working night shifts at a Sainsbury's adjacent to the triangle. That made for some pretty interesting sights.
One time, an elderly lady came in at 7 am, covered in blood, and tried to hug me.
This was the view from the kitchen window of a flat I lived in next to Edinburgh Castle.
The flat itself was quite literally falling apart, but that didn’t matter when we could spend our time looking out of this window.
That place served me well during the lockdowns. A really cool old man lived on the top floor of the building opposite. He loved washing strawberries and clapping for the NHS.
I miss him.
